Lefkas (or Lefkada, in Modern Greek) is one of the seven islands in the Ionian Sea. It is situated between the islands of Corfu and Cephalonia. A 50m long floating bridge connects the island to the mainland (prefecture of Acarnania).

Lefkada is a small cradle of civilization having produced many poets and artists. It was the birthplace of the famous Greek poets Aristotles Valaoritis and Aggelos Sikelianos, the poet Lefkadios Hearn (or Koizoumi Yakumo - national poet of Japan), and the famous Greek mezzo-soprano Agnes Baltsa.

Lefkada has countless beaches of incredible beauty and clear, blue-green water, some of them ranked among the top beaches in the whole Mediterranean (Porto Katsiki, Kathisma, Egremnoi).

There are many ways of arrival on the island:
1) By car: with no ferry costs over the floating bridge
2) By airplane: International airport of Aktion / Preveza is only 18km away from the city of Lefkada, with flight connections to other Greek and European (in the Summer) airports.
3) By waterplane: flying from the Marina of the city of Lefkada to Corfu, Paxos, Cephalonia and Patras.
4) By private yacht or sailboat.
